Oceans 04:05
The propulsing streams, the wild waves The abysmal maelstrom swirls The sea quakes, ships find their graves And screams of lost ones go unheard… The world was yours, you braved the oceans You held a high rank in human hierarchy But without your men and your devices The abominations of the deep dark sea await Your last grip washed away by the ice cold, salty water Down the ocean deep, into death Where the fathomless cold dark depths gape Oceans so wide Oceans so deep Where shoals of silvery fish Rapidly change shape Where corals spew plankton Unnoted life forms turn out essential! But you now will only contribute To the growth and energy of your scavengers Lost and obsolete on the ocean floor Bioluminescent lights vaguely shine around you… Your last grip washed away by the ice cold, salty water Down the ocean deep, into death A life ended where life once began In the oceans so wide Oceans so deep

Islands 04:34
An unknown variation to the standards of the world Far away from the laws of the mainland, differently life twirled Everything here seems different, everything unique Separated from life’s routine, to worldly eyes mystique ‘Here evolution is proceeding with spectacular speed’ Islands Islands - worlds within itself Different colors, different shapes and different forms Endemic species evolved cut-off from the norms Evolution through isolation on unoccupied grounds Shielded from predators and competitors they evolved their crowns Lizards became dragons and in the glittering sunrays With elaborated plumage birds are dancing a ballet ‘We find an abundance of unique plants’ Islands Islands - worlds within itself Different colors, different shapes and different forms Endemic species evolved Islands Havens within the oceans A secret gate to chances for all those who adhere Every time that through the mist an island appears Like stars in the heavens dots of land embellish the oceans - islands Isolated, life rolls wildly into different motions - islands Like stars in the heavens dots of land embellish the oceans - islands Isolated, life rolls wildly into different motions - islands Like stars in the heavens dots of land embellish the oceans - islands Isolated from the predators and competitors they evolved with - islands

Grasslands 03:57
The sun comes up and the sun goes down On the great green grasslands… Vast and wide Outstretched under the naked sky Lie the great green grasslands These plains seem desolate Or is this an illusion? Miles and miles and miles…nothing! These plains seem desolate But this must be an illusion Carcass of a wildebeest, the circling vulture… See them fly, see them run In the burning midday sun Over great green grasslands Safety in numbers, safety of the flock To distract the lion, to distract the hawk On the great green grasslands Plains so vast and wide Horizons always far Supporting gatherings of wildlife They are the migratory herds that feed on plants On resilient grasses that cover the sands The sun comes up and the sun goes down The clouds gather, the clouds come down On the great green grasslands… Hundreds of gazelles await the storm Hundreds watch the landscape transform On the great green grasslands And as the lightning strikes, it sets the fields ablaze Fire swallows the flesh, the flesh that here once grazed Morning reveals smoldering bodies and all that has been burned But through the scorched earth The shoots of green return… The shoots of green return The sun comes up and the sun goes down… The sun comes up and the sun goes down...

Cities 03:06
Human beings, rats and pigeons Cockroaches, cats, dogs and mice Concrete homes – their comfort zones Everything within their reach Massive blocks of concrete in the cities Asphalting on the homes of millions Cutting down all that stands in their way Nests to the grounds – egg-breaking sounds Never to burst into life Massive blocks of concrete in the cities Cities Concrete, plastic, bitumen Fiberglass, cement and steel Carbon, chloride, solder smoke In gasoline they sign a deal Building and building like rats breeding in a closed cage as their world closes in… Tension between the inhabitants builds up As pollution increases with speed Massive blocks of concrete in the cities Skyscrapers, squares and factory halls Offices, highways and malls The overstrung idiot’s head wildly tolls And in panic into insanity he falls Massive blocks of concrete in the cities Cities
5.
Forests 04:31
Through forests covered in snow Bordering to the taigas below Where conifers withstand the cold Graceful and centuries old Here wails an ice-cold breeze Through the forest trees Through forests where leaves turn from the brightest green In an autumnal scene To yellow, auburn and red Isn’t it a beautiful death? The trees refill with life’s blood And again the forest buds And as the leaves absorb the sunlight Intensive photosynthesis occurs From chloroplasts the lifecycle recurs Oxygen for life to breathe Watch the vegetation wreathe Through thickets and through swamps and… Through forests where the dew drips from the leaves The dense vegetation weaves Frogs from the trees they dive A proliferation of life In the damp tropical heat A million hearts beat And as the leaves absorb the sunlight Intensive photosynthesis occurs From chloroplasts the lifecycle recurs Oxygen for life to breathe Watch the vegetation wreathe Through thickets and through swamps and through forests

Skies 01:46
The world above Grand, magnificent and out of reach… But on the wings of the wind Some could glide And with wings on their skins Some could take the skies… Soaring high above Mighty... Or migrating through worlds Dangerously... Rain and thunder, Northern lights Through the rainbows, through the skies…
7.
Mountains 04:53
Tectonic forces and volcanism formed the giants of the earth Landforms stretching high and mighty above the surrounding land Weathered and eroded capriciously by glaciers, rivers and storms The craggy path to a cold summit holds dangers for those who enter upon No man can conquer a mountain Surviving a visit is all he can achieve The climb is steep, the rocks are distorted as levels of oxygen decrease In the mountains… O mountaineer... Don’t you feel mocked by the grandeur of all that surrounds you? On this altitude the precipice grins at you Are you aware how few of you survived here? You should have looked at these animals and plants How well they are adapted and equipped… But no man can conquer a mountain Surviving a visit is all he can achieve The climb is steep, the rocks are distorted as levels of oxygen decrease In the mountains… The roof of the earth stretches out high and at the summit nothing can live permanently Treacherous rocks and avalanches And deep caverns in glaciers lurk In the mountains…

Caves 05:37
Enter the cave shaft Leave behind your rafts And follow me down The flooded passageways A deep dark maze Make sure you don’t drown Caves One of the few habitats on earth Where not a single sunray inserts Where every single escape is cursed All life in darkness immersed Losing all traces As water chases us We run for our lives… Waiting for days, for weeks Hearing your starving shrieks Will we survive? Caves Are these rocks gonna be our graves? Is there a chance that we will be saved? It’s getting harder, but we still must be brave Though our future looks more and more depraved The dissolution of limestone Stalactites and stalagmites Together they form columns A drapery of cave crystals Cave dwelling creatures With the strangest features Have here left their mark Cockroaches breeding In bat-droppings feeding Surviving the dark Caves To this darkness still enslaved Wondering if we will ever be saved It's getting harder but we still must be brave Though our future looks more and more and more depraved Artworks in dripstone Never to be seen by the eye A shelter for the blind A grave for us unlucky trespassers…

Fresh Waters 04:33
The breeding grounds lie up, up high up the rivers Rivers spawned by ocean water vaporized by the sun Condensed as snow, rain or mist they turned into mountain streams To shape the landscape as they grew into erosive mighty rivers And the salmon go… Up up up against the current they go Through fresh waters Swim, climb, jump – en route mortality In these fresh waters They were born up high, up high up these rivers And journeyed down with the current to the lakes and the seas To spend their lives in the saline water of the oceans Preparing for the great journey home to the place they once were born Up up up against the current they go Through fresh waters Swim, climb, jump - en route mortality In these fresh waters Up up up against the current they go Through fresh waters Swim, climb, jump - there is no room for the weak In these fresh waters They keep on going up to the spawning grounds They keep on jumping the falls They grew from fry to parr to smolt to adult ocean salmon Now battling the rapids and the obstacles the river may present Eagles, humans, grizzly bears and seals awaiting every chance And as they reach their destination they spawn, deteriorate and die Up up up against the current they go Through fresh waters Swim, climb, jump – en route mortality In these fresh waters Up up up against the current they go Through fresh waters Swim, climb, jump – prespawn mortality In these fresh waters Their rotting carcasses transfer nutrients To terrestrial wildlife and riparian woodlands And the cycle starts again Fields florish, flowers bloom And everywhere life attracts life As all life on land depends on fresh water…

Deserts 04:30
The sun burns – in the desert And the land is arid and barren – in the desert The lack of vegetation – in the desert Exposes the unprotected surface… In the desert... Endless weathering – in the desert Sand and dust storms – in the desert Occasional downpours – in the desert Rocks eroding Hazards of the deserts, where lizards run through solar blizzards Crystal stars shine on the desert night Rattlesnakes and earthquakes, the outbreak of a sand storm that takes Clouds of dust as the heart of the sun ignites The scarce plants have spines – in the desert They are tough and wiry – in the desert Nocturnal animals – in the desert Hide away during the day Hazards of the deserts, where lizards run through solar blizzards Crystal stars shine on the desert night Rattlesnakes and earthquakes, the outbreak of a sand storm that takes Clouds of dust as the heart of the sun ignites In the desert... One third of the earth Largely abandoned Just particles of rocks and sand...

Frostworlds 04:52
Bitter winds wail over the frostworlds Inhospitable mountain tops And palaces of frozen drops Howling storms sweep over the frostworlds A cold that makes the heart stop Cursed be the seed of any crop Another adventurer has dropped Frost…frost…worlds Frostworlds Ghastly silence over the frostworlds Plains of ice, devoid of life In winter’s darkness death is rife And fiercely it rises on the frostworlds The cutting wind, the freezing cold And still they look for a foothold Another adventurous wild story untold Frost…frost…worlds Don’t set foot on the frostworlds And yet there is life all over the frostworlds Shores and seas – a blooming food chain And at the mountain sides remain Valiant ones who inhabit the frostworlds Habitats for those to claim Who courageously endure life’s game But not for those who think nature can be tamed… Frost…frost…worlds Frostworlds Frost…frost…worlds Don't set foot on the frostworlds Frost…frost…worlds Those cursed, those damned frostworlds Frost…frost…worlds Stay away from the frostworlds!
